The Aviary home page displays the summary of what is going on in your aviary. It is displayed at application start up in the Details frame. You can navigate to this page at any time by clicking on the Home button in the toolbar. You can also view this page by clicking on the top node displaying your aviary name.
The home page displays the following information
Birds Summary
This section displays the total bird count in your aviary including chicks for each species
Active Clutches
All active clutches are listed here. An active clutch is defined as one which has at least one egg with the status unknown or Developing. You may view clutch details by clicking on the clutch code. You may also directly edit the clutch by right-clicking the clutch code and selecting Actions-> Edit.
Eggs Due to Hatch
Eggs due to hatch during the next few days are displayed here. The default is 7 days. You may adjust this value by clicking on Tools->Options in the menu bar.
Nursery
All chicks with the status of Nursery are displayed here. Nursery Status is automatically assigned to all newly hatched chicks. You may change the status to another value as appropriate. This list is a useful reminder to which chicks have not been banded yet and their age.
You may also view upcoming birthdays of your birds and your aviary contact info by clicking the info tabs.
